The Empress
Gayja · a card from the Eutheum deck
- Upright
- abundance, nurturing, creativity
- Reversed
- dependence, creative block
Upright meaning
Abundance, fertility in every sense, tenderness and blossoming. The Empress is the energy of care, beauty and creation: ideas, relationships and projects ripen and bear fruit. Like Gayja, who feels her people as she feels herself, the card speaks of love that nourishes rather than controls. Take care of yourself and your body too.
Reversed meaning
Neglecting yourself, a creative block, or smothering overprotectiveness. You may be giving too much to others and too little to yourself. The card reminds you that care begins with you.
Love and relationships
Warmth, sensuality, harmony and a sense of safety. The relationship is blossoming, perhaps deepening or making plans for a shared future. Reversed: jealousy, emotional dependence, or too little attention for each other.
Work and money
Growth, a good harvest from earlier work, creative projects developing. A good time to invest in what grows slowly but surely. Reversed: stagnation, excess, spending on pleasures beyond measure.
The card's advice
Tend what matters patiently, like a garden. The growth will come.
In Natuland
Queen of the Fifth Side of the World. Yet the Tatun language has no word for "queen". Gayja is the "all-self", in whom a part of every Tatun lives. She cares for her people like a mother, and her city is Fifthburg, on a hill surrounded by waterfalls.
Symbols on the card
- A crown of stars: a bond with the sky and with the cycles of nature.
- Ripening wheat and pomegranates: abundance and fertility, creative fertility too.
- A heart-shaped shield with the sign of Venus: love as a strength.
- Fifthburg and its waterfalls: the home and the people she cares for.
- A bird and a deer: care for everything that lives.
